JSE Niseko Snow Report 17th February 2021
At least 45cm of new snow has been recorded in 24 hours and the temperature at 8am this morning was -7ºc. After rain all day on Monday and strong winds yesterday, we woke up this morning to a huge dump of fresh snow! Quite possibly the biggest so far this winter, at least as far as how much snow has landed (and stayed) on the JSE Snow Station! It is fair to say that conditions for skiing and snowboarding will be superb in Niseko today, as long as the wind is not too strong. Right now it looks like a lot of the higher lifts will be on wind hold until later on this morning. It is also worth urging some caution as the ground will be hard and uneven if you manage to touch the bottom and the risk of avalanche will be greater the higher you go. All in all a good day to stay low and get deep!
Winter has returned with a vengeance after a couple of unseasonal Niseko winter days.
The Japan Ski Experience snow station is located in Niseko Hirafu at an elevation of 210m above sea level.
