Equipment

Central Snowsports

Central Snowsports stocks the largest and widest range of Demo ski and snowboard rental in Hakuba, and endeavour to match you with the best gear possible to enable progress no matter what your ability. With four stores across Hakuba, Central services all of Hakuba with their convenient complimentary pick up & drop off service.

Child rates apply to children 14 years and younger.

Choose from either Regular or Demo Hakuba ski hire packages:

Regular Rental Package - to suit beginner to lower intermediate level skiers. Great for those on a budget who want to stick to the piste.

Demo Rental Package - includes the best of the latest top brands like K2, Line, Volkl, Head, Ride Snowboards, Nordica, Full Tilt, Technica and Blizzard.

  • Rentals can be picked up from 1pm the day prior to your hakuba ski rental start period

Lift Passes

Hakuba Valley Lift Passes

Hakuba Valley Lift Pass includes 10 ski resorts: Happo One, Hakuba 47, Goryu, Iwatake, Tsugaike, Norikura, Cortina, Jiigatake, Sanosaka and Kashimayari.

Direct lift access is available with the IC Chip Pass at Goryu, Hakuba 47, Happo-one, Iwatake, Tsugaike Kogen, Norikura and Cortina. Ticket exchange is required at the ticket window at Sanosaka, Jiigatake and Kashimayari. With the purchase of the Hakuba Valley Ticket, you can ride the shuttle bus to any of the 10 snow resorts free of charge. Please show your Hakuba Valley Ticket when you get on the bus.  Hakuba Valley has also joined Epic Pass, where as an Epic Pass holder you can receive 5 free days to all 10 Hakuba Valley resorts! 

Pre ordered lift passes will be delivered to your accommodation in advance of arrival.

BASIC INFORMATION

  • Children 5 and under ski free
  • Ski an unlimited amount of resorts in any one day
  • Tickets are activated from the first day of use and do not have to be used on consecutive days. Please note the validity period of passes purchased.

GROUP LESSONS

Group ski and snowboard lessons for adults and children with fully qualified, English speaking instructors. Maximum of 8 people per group, for complete beginners to advanced levels. All group lessons are taught at Goryu Iimori resort.

Adult Group Lessons:

  1. ADULT MORNING 2 HR GROUP SKI OR SNOWBOARD LESSON (ages 13+) - 10:30AM~12:30PM
  2. ADULT AFTERNOON 2 HR GROUP SKI OR SNOWBOARD LESSON (ages 13+) - 1:30PM~3:30PM

Evergreen International Ski School - Private Lessons

PRIVATE LESSONS

Evergreen International Ski School's private lesson programs offer focused instruction for the ultimate in personalized improvement. Suitable for total beginners through to advanced skiers - carving or freestyle - and tailored to suit your level. With one-on-one lessons or private groups of friends/family (up to 5 people per instructor), Evergreen's instructors will focus on improving your skill, confidence and style.

  1. HAKUBA ALL DAY PRIVATE 6 HR - *flexible start time and location (see below)
  2. ALL DAY PRIVATE 5 HR - 10:30AM~3:30PM
  3. EARLY STARTER PRIVATE 4 HR - 08:30AM~12:30PM
  4. FIRST TRACKS PRIVATE 110 MIN - 08:30AM - 10:20AM
  5. MORNING PRIVATE 2 HR - 10:30AM~12:30PM
  6. AFTERNOON PRIVATE 2 HR - 1:30PM~3:30PM

Dates of Operation: 7th December 2019 - 29th March 2020 excluding New Year's Day. During the Chinese New Year Period (22nd - 30th January 2020), private lessons will be limited to 5 hr, 6hr and First Tracks Lessons.

  • Prices reflect a per instructor rate in JPY based on group size (1-5 pax). 
  • One instructor can be shared by up to 5 people of the same ability level and using the same type of equipment (ski / snowboard)

Evergreen International Ski School - Group Lessons

Multi or single day Hakuba ski school programs are available for all levels of skiers and boarders.  Hakuba ski lessons are located in Happo resort, within walking distance from many accommodations in Happo and Wadano.

  • Kids Hakuba Heroes Programs are available from 14th December to March 15th (Snowboard) and March 22nd 2020 (Ski) excluding New Year's Day.
  • Kids Yeti Ski Programs are available from December 14th 2019 until March 22nd 2020 excluding New Year's Day.

BASIC INFORMATION:

  • Meeting location for Happo Resort lessons is at the Evergreen Ski School base located at the bottom of Happo One’s Kokusai chair lift.
  • Children 3-6 will not require poles unless Level 5
  • Children's programs include lunch (1 hour lunch break included in lesson times)
  • Lessons will operate out of Happo resort unless otherwise requested

Airport Transfers

Nagano Snow Shuttle

Nagano Snow Shuttle direct coach transfers between Tokyo airports and Hakuba.  These are scheduled daily departures which align with most flight arrivals.

BASIC INFORMATION:

  • Operating from 18th December 2019 to 15th March 2020
  • Limited operations 18th-26th December 2019 & 23rd February - 15th March 2020
  • 15:30 and 20:30 departures from Narita and 16:15 from Haneda includes mandatory drop off at Hakuba accommodation fee (JPY 1000 per person / Otari: JPY 1500 per person)
  • Japan Ski Experience will arrange a complimentary pick-up provided by your accommodation from Hakuba Base Camp Bus Stop to your hotel or chalet for check-in
  • Children 4 years of age and under who DO NOT require a seat are free of charge.  If you require a seat for your child, please request this when booking the service
  • Luggage Allowance: 2 pieces of luggage per person (eg, 1 ski or board bag & 1 suitcase)
  • Rest stops are made every 90-120 minutes
  • Travel Time: From Narita - approximately 5.5 hours.   From Haneda - approximately 5 hours.   *subject to change depending on road and traffic conditions
  • Child seats are not provided

 

Chuo Private Taxi Transfer

Direct door-to-door private taxi transfer between Narita or Haneda Airport and Tokyo City and your Hakuba accommodation.

Private Taxi - aligned to any flight schedule and direct transfer to/from Hakuba accommodation.  Accommodates up to 7 guests.

    • From/To Haneda Airport 4 ~ 4.5 hours

  • Luggage Allowance:
    • Luggage allowance is 7 bags per vehicle
    • This includes carry-on, suitcases, and ski or snowboard equipment. No extra room for additional luggage above this allowance!
  • Child seats can be provided but are subject to availability. Supply is limited so availability cannot be guaranteed. If you require a child seat, please note this when submitting your transfer request form

Make Your Own Way to Hakuba

TOKYO TO HAKUBA BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The quickest route between Tokyo and Hakuba is by bullet train (shinkansen) to Nagano followed by direct coach to Hakuba.  Travel time from Tokyo is approximately 3 hours.

If you prefer to avoid travelling by public transport please note that transfers from Tokyo airports to your Hakuba accommodation can be booked with Japan Ski Experience in advance.

Snow Monkey and Zenkoji Temple Day Tour

A full day group cultural tour from Hakuba visiting the world famous Snow Monkey Hot Springs and Zenkoji Buddhist Temple, with traditional Japanese lunch at a sake brewery in the historic town of Obuse. Includes all transportation, English speaking guide, entry fee to Monkey Park, traditional Japanese set-lunch and visit to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano city.

Nozawa Onsen Fire Festival

The Nozawa Onsen Fire Festival takes place on 15th January every year so this optional excursion is only suitable for bookings that fall over this date.

Nozawa's most famous festival is a must-see cultural experience. Here, fire erupts in a designated area of the village where thousands gather to celebrate and pray for the well being and good fortune of the village, and to ensure a plentiful harvest for the coming year. The Dosojin festival is one of Japan's three most celebrated fire festivals, where torch bearing villagers battle against young men barricaded in a pre-built wooden fort with an aim to burn it down. Space is limited so book early!

Tour includes transport, English-speaking guide, tasting Oyaki steamed buns, traditional Japanese set menu dinner, and insurance

Tour Schedule:

  • Tour bus departs for Nozawa Onsen in the late afternoon / meet at your designated meeting point at 15:00
  • Arrive to Nozawa Onsen
