Niseko Powder Report 19th December 2020
Another 22cm of new snow was recorded on the Japan Ski Experience snow station in the last 24 hours! At 7:30am this morning the temperature was -9ºc. Great conditions for skiing and snowboarding in Japan yesterday and the same will hold true. We're not just talking about Niseko either; all of the main ski resorts in central and northern Japan - including Hakuba, Furano & Rusutsu - have been receiving huge snowfalls too.
Riding powder filled tree runs all morning yesterday in Niseko Hanazono.
Today is a great day for anyone currently in Niseko for two reasons. Firstly the Niseko Hirafu gondola opens for the first time this season offering a fast way up the mountain and opening additional terrain for skiers and snowboarders. Secondly today is the first day of night skiing operations at Grand Hirafu, Niseko Village & Annupuri ski resorts. Snow is forecast throughout the morning, afternoon and evening today so it should be a fantastic first day skiing under lights here in Niseko!
Taking Ace Quad Lift #2 (Center 4) up to experience Niseko's world renowned night skiing.
The JSE Powder Report is new for Winter 2020-21 so keep checking in with us for daily updates! Our snow station is located in Niseko Hirafu at an elevation of 210m above sea level. For a well established snow report in a different Niseko location we recommend comparing snowfall readings with
