2021-2022 Ski Season Commencing!
2021-2022 Ski Season Commencing!
The time is upon us once again, with the Niseko United Resort set to open this coming weekend! The start to operations will be staggered, with Niseko Village beginning on the 3rd of December and Annupuri, Hirafu and Hanazono following suit on the 4th.
Temperatures currently sit a little warmer, but with nearly a metre of snow falling in three days last week we are well on course to kick start the 2021-2022 Niseko winter season. Long term weather forecasts look excellent, and expectations are high for a better than usual start to the season across the
Niseko ski resort area
when lifts open later this week.
All eyes will be on Niseko Hanazono on the 4th December, as they unveil not one, but two new ski lifts, as well as a new beginner ski run, Colly’s Folly. The lower mountain terrain at Hanazono has always been popular among beginners and powder seekers alike, with congestion at the base of the Hanazono 1 lift sometimes causing longer than usual lift lines. With the opening of the fantastic new
Hanazono Symphony Gondola
, as well as the upgrading of Hanazono 1 from a four to a six-seater chair, access to the slopes for everyone will become quicker and more comfortable. We here at Japan Ski Experience certainly cannot wait to get over there to try as soon as possible!
The 2020-2021 season saw a bumper December and January, with temperatures staying well below freezing and consistent snowfalls. We will be hoping for the same again, so make sure to follow our
